Artists Capturing Echo Lake in Franconia Notch , Past and Present

Echo Lake in Franconia Notch New Hampshire, was a favorite spot for many of the White Mountain Artists and of course many of the Hudson River School Artists of the 19th century . Recently I set out to make a large painting of this gorgeous spot. Yet, I did not do my more normal  procedure as I have done with other large paintings in the past, in this case I started the large canvas en plein air. Normally, I do a small painting outside our maybe just a careful drawing then take those studies back to the studio and make my larger painting. So this was a new and refreshing experience for me! But, anyway in this post I want to share some amazing White mountain painters works of this particular location then share my new piece.
